Problems Adding a Tracking number to a Dispatched Order.
Summary: glengardener discussed an issue with marking an eBay UK order as dispatched due to using a Royal Mail shipping label outside of the eBay system. Although the item has been shipped and has a tracking number, the system doesn't allow status updates. tressygirl suggested sending the tracking details directly to the buyer and offered advice on how to mark the item as dispatched by triggering a Simple Delivery label without using it. They also explained the refund processes for unused delivery labels depending on who was selected to pay for shipping in the listing.
I have sold an item recently through eBay UK which weighed 13 kg and was part of the Global Shipping Programme. The order number was 11-15138-51435. Due to the weight being over 10kg I was forced to use a direct order from Royal Mail to provide a postage label and did not use the simple shipping service provided by e-bay.
The tracking number is TN105403375GB but I can find no way of putting it into the system or marking the order as fulfilled. When I try to add tracking I am informed that:- "The selected order(s) aren't eligible for this action."
The order therefore still shows as awaiting dispatch which is untrue.
How do I arrange to mark the item as dispatched so that the order can be completed.

Mentor1 month agoYou cannot now add any new tracking, eBay suggest sending the buyer a message with those tracking details. If a case is opened later for item not received, you will be able to add those tracking details.
To mark as dispatched you could trigger the SD label, but not use it, that will mark it as dispatched.
A refund is sent to whoever initially paid for the SD label:
If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days
If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
