Posted outside of Simple Delivery
Hi, I hadn't used Ebay for ages and sold an item which I have posted outside of the Simple Delivery system.
I cannot update the tracking information, I can see its been delivered but the buyer is unresponsive and I get a message that states "Your buyer has reached out about their order. Since you used simple delivery, we'll work with your buyer directly on any delivery related questions."
I sent the item 48hr Royal Mail, tracked and signed for direct from the post office, instead of using the postage on ebay as I didn't really understand.
I spoke with buyer to confirm address and send photos of me packaging and posting the item and the receipt/tracking info; to which I had responses.
How can I work with ebay, I have already provided all the details in messages to the buyer.

Mentor6 months agoThe option to change tracking number has been removed but you would be able to add the new number to an "Item not received" case if one was opened.
You can mark dispatched by opening the original pre-paid Simple Delivery label (Get prepaid label > Get prepaid label and QR code). It will remain unused and the cost will be automatically refunded to the buyer in 30 days (assuming they paid for it).

OP6 months agoThank you. I spoke with eBay on the phone a moment ago who said exactly the same as you.
I am not sure if I like the simple delivery method, I think its because I will have to work out weight and dimensions before shipping. I usually just take it to the post office and let them sort it all for me.
