Postal Changes - Age Verification
Summary: The discussion revolves around changes in postal services, specifically focusing on age verification measures. nichebeautysolutions initiated the topic, and there were responses from john1297576 and papso22. They discussed implications and implementation strategies for these changes, though specific details of their conversation are not available.
We have just received an email for eBay saying they are changing all of our Royal Mail Age Verifiation postage from standard Royal Mail to UPS for the scissors we sell.
We sell these scissors cost £5.95 and we offer free postage. The postal cost is £0.88 for a single nail scissor and the UPS option they are switching to is £11.00.
We use a franking machine and do not use eBay to arrange postage.
Please can anyone advise us as to what we should do?
We are swamped with emails from eBay and have no idea what is going on........

Mentor2 months agoYou need a business account with RM to use their verification services.

Mentor2 months agoThere are only three services you can use the age verification on, Special Delivery and tracked 24 and 48. I don't think a franking machine would count, is it with you under contract with Royal Mail, in which case you would need to speak with them direct.

Mentor2 months agoAs a business seller I would have thought the choice of mail was up to you so long as you comply with the rules.
Just a suggestion which may not be practical, could you offer free postage, incorporating cost in the selling price, and continue using your own method of complying with rules for bladed items.

OP2 months agoHi John,
Many thanks for your reply and advice, it is greatly appreciated.
They are making so many changes, it is overwhelming. I lost 4 listings of our best selling products and they would not let me make further changes to relist them.
I will follow your advice.
Have a great day!
David
