Postage Options
One two occasions, I have had to pay the balance of postage for items I have sold (very low value items so lucky if I’ve made a £1). The buyer on the most recent occasion paid 91p for Royal Mail 2nd class but I had to “buy” a Yodel label. Really not understanding why. Something called Packlink was mentioned too. Can someone help?

Mentor1 month agoIF its for the map you sold it was with standard 2nd class postage (eg 91p) so why didn't you just put a stamp and post it, you don't need ebay to sell you something else from packlink that you don't need.

OP1 month agoYes it was for the map. I hadn’t even considered putting a stamp on it. How does eBay know I’ve sent it though (I know I’ll be able to get a proof of postage from the post office)?

OP1 month agoI always tend to choose simple delivery as the option and am usually able to get a Royal Mail QR code.

Mentor1 month agoPack link and simple delivery are two separate things, do not confuse them. however some categories/items are exempt.
You can at a post office get the proof of postage, and if you want to be double sure you can always send on a tracked 24 or 48 service still at the post office. But for a small item like this (eg value) its hardly worth it.

OP1 month agoThanks. Yes I’m aware Packlink and Simple Delivery are two separate things. I’m not aware I’ve ever used the Packlink option. It’s just really annoying.
