Postage calculated wrongly

I have underestimated the weight of a parcel I am sending. It is going to be delivered by Evri. When I looked at the Evri postage rate it said items from 5-10kg were in the region of £5 . My buyer has paid £3.09. I don’t want the buyer paying extra and contacted eBay to pay the difference. I was told that because it is the Simple Delivery method we are covered and don’t have to pay extra. However I am a bit confused as this isn’t what was stated on the Evri Delivery Rates. I don’t want myself or my buyer to be hit with a charge.
Can anyone confirm if I need to pay more postage or if what the agent at eBay told me was correct? Many thanks

MentorJul 12, 2026 at 5:54 PMI suggest you ask evri if they will deliver despite cost being underpaid. I doubt they will, whatever ebay says, otherwise everyone could quote wrong weight and. not pay correct cost.
