Postage address query
Hi there
I have sold several items on eBay but I have never come across this.
I went on Google maps to find out the address location from the buyer and the supposed postal address is from a permanent closed business building. I'm slightly paranoid and debating wether to just cancel the order.
Am I over reacting? The seller also has (1) review also.

Mentor11 months agoI assume it was the phone.
You are right to be suspicious.
Do as advised & cancel.

OP11 months agoI received a message back from the buyer stating that it was his mistake about the address and gave me another business name (another haulage company) that work out of the same place.
I checked Google again for the new company name (same address as previous) and it checks out a little this time.
I am still 50/50 whether to just cancel the order and relist.
Thanks for the reply
Regards Carl

Mentor11 months agoThey are giving you another address to post to!! ?
It's a SCAM !
You would not have any eBay seller protection posting to a different address and the item was ' lost in the post', and it would be... ' lost in the post'. You would lose the phone and the money paid for it.
Cancel the order, citing Problem with Buyer's address, and block that person from returning.

OP11 months agoYes he replied saying the following
Hi there, sorry about that, this is correct address, but i done a mistake, as I didn't change company name. Its KBC logistic now not VKVP haulage anymore. So correct address would be
KBC LOGISTICS FELIXSTOWE
Walton Ave, Felixstowe IP11 3HH
This is exactly the same address and postcode as the original address but the company name that was stated for the postal label was of a company that is supposed to be permanently closed (according to Google)

Mentor11 months agoWhat was the actual name on the order confirmation?
I also think you are being set up for a scam. Cancel it.

OP11 months agoThe original name was vkvp haulage and the new one was KBC logistics.
Apparently the vkvp haulage shut down and it reopened as KBC logistics.
The buying has replied (after I cancelled the order) and he said that it's on him because he didn't change the address when the company got changed but i just didn't feel comfortable with how it all went.
Just to clarify both addresses he gave (the original on the post label and the "corrected" one he sent Via message) were both the exact same address and Street name ect but just different company names.
He said he's a HGV driver from Monday to Friday and I assume the given address were his depot?
Either way I haven't dealt with anything like that before so I just cancelled the order and given him my apologies and reasoning.

Mentor11 months agoDid something worry you about the buyer that made you check their address in the first place? If the item not cheap probably best to cancel using the reason "Issue with buyer's address" and put their ID on your blocked bidder list:
