Poor effort from eBAY

Question

I sent an item that I know was working ok but the buyer said did not work for the intended means . To save any hassle I agreed and issued a full refund .Now she wants me to pay for a returns postal label .I think they are at it and eBay have been as useful as trying to sell a one legged man a pair of shoes !

You seemed to accept her reason for return, and damage may have happened in transit. When sellers refund upfront ebay don't rquire the buyer to send the item back. If you do want it back you would have to buy a postage label and send the link or QR code to the buyer.

You are a private seller if the item was damaged in transit and was sent with simple delivery you should have told the buyer to open a case thus, not refunded them and eBay would have refunded them from their own pockets and left you with your money.

AS it is you have obviously refunded upfront, which in eBays eyes means you don't want the item back, so you don't have to provide a label, buyer gets refund and keeps item.
