Please help – Gold bars purchased on eBay appear to be counterfeit

Hi everyone,
I purchased 3 gold bars on eBay in January 2026 as part of my investment. I bought them in good faith, based on the information provided in the eBay listings, believing they were genuine.
Recently, when I took them to a physical store to exchange them, I was shocked to find out that they are not genuine. I have contacted the sellers but received no response.
I contacted eBay, but they are saying the purchases are outside the 30-day Money Back Guarantee period and therefore they cannot help.
What is the best way to recover my money, and can eBay escalate this as a counterfeit/fraudulent item case?

I'm sorry but as you know you are well out of time to claim under eBay's 30 day MBG, and also well out of time to turn to your payment provider for help.
A legal route is your only way to try and regain your money.
