Phone advertised brand new with faulty aftermarket battery

Hi, bought an Apple iPhone 13 that was advertised brand new unused. 3 months later phone develops battery fault and turns out has aftermarket battery fitted. So in my opinion the seller falsely advertised the product (still selling them now). Reported to seller and refused refund. Reported to eBay and they said because over 30 days nothing they could do. Same with PayPal and credit card company. This phone was bought in good faith advertised as brand new. It seems if the seller can get past the 30 day window then they are home and dry and then eBay leave their customers out in the cold. There was no way to know the phone had a faulty aftermarket battery installed until the fault actually occurred, and this could easily occur months to years after purchase. Any advice on my options would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Both ebay and Paypal only allow 30 days, but you mention credit card company they usually allow at least 120 days, but if you paid by paypal then you can’t expect help from Card company.
Did you buy from a Private or Business Seller. If a Business seller try Citizens Advice, if a private seller I doubt there is anything you can do.
In my opinion if buying NEW items, it is never wise to buy from a Private Seller.

Thanks for the info. I paid with PayPal using my credit card. They are a business seller so I'll contact citizens advice.
