Personal Security Question about Selling
Hello All,
I am just wondering how I can completely hide my address while selling an item as the last time I tried selling something on Ebay years ago, I had my house broken into and the item in question stollen.
I can’t quite remember if it was through eBay the actually theft happened as I was also selling it somewhere else, but eBay was the most obvious link at the time.
Since then I haven’t wanted to sell on eBay but I am now wanting to sell again via eBay but having the problem of not being able to completely hide my address on the listing.
So what I want to do is to sell items but for there to be no way someone can find out my address or other information that creates a security risk for me.

Mentor5 months agoOnly business sellers have to display their address on their listings. We can't look up people's addresses like we could years ago.

that’s very helpful!
My concern with that issue came about from reading into this issue, that I had to give my address when selling, for the buyer or postage service to know where to post the item back too if needed rather than me being able to do that myself.
Basically, the selling site wasn’t allowing me to continue with having my postcode showing so I didn’t list the item.
With what your saying, does that mean that even thought the site selling page demands/shows my postcode to me, no one else can see it?

As a Private seller no one can see your address on your listings, just your location for example, Brighton, UK and no more detailed address details.

Okay, what you’re saying too makes sense, it’s just that on my selling page it constantly kept putting my postcode back in every time I deleted it and asked for it again each time so I didn’t list it for any longer than a quick check to see what everyone else would be able to see.
I’ll have another go in the next few days.

Mentor5 months agoEven buyer would only see your address if he wanted to return, although any seller should put a return address on parcel. Just number and post code is sufficient.
