Pending Payment - Incorrect Shipping Tracking - Ebay won't release money

Please Help!

So my dad sold and sent an item not using the original shipping that he paid for. He then paid for new shipping. He annoyingly didn't change the shipping tracking on the sold item so ebay isn't picking up that the item has been posted and received by the buyer. The buyer has even left feedback saying they have it. So the payment is just stuck in pending as ebay doesn't know the item has already been received. Any ideas how I sort this.

As payments are now released within 24 hours he must be a new seller. For established sellers money is released even before dispatch.

See if you can update the tracking manually this way, and use a laptop / PC not the app or mobile browser, Chrome seems to work well, too.

Go to "Orders Paid & Dispatched"
Click on "View order details"
Within the "Postage" section there's a small dropdown arrow next to "Track Package" - click on that.
Click on the "Add tracking" option
A box will come up with the current tracking number . Delete that and replace it with your tracking.

Refunds can be claimed for unused Simple Delivery labels:

If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling. Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

If he's unable to add the new tracking number to the order details, the best way forward is for him to contact eBay and ask them to add it, and to check it as well so they can see that the order has been delivered.
