Hi everyone,
My payouts are currently on hold (£281.70 balance) with the error: "Your payouts are currently on hold because your eBay account is restricted. You'll start getting paid again when your account is reinstated."
I haven't received any email explaining the exact reason for the restriction or what documents are needed. When I contact Customer Support, they just tell me to wait for an email or state that the team will email me within 3 business days.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or can anyone advise on how to get clarity on what specific verification/documents eBay is waiting for?

Mentor1 month agoI think its because you're trading as a business but on a private account, and that this has raised a red flag. A private seller is one who is just listing their own personal possessions, they don't have multiples of brand new items in different sizes - for that you need a business account.
eBay will be providing HMRC with your details anyway so it's vital to keep correct accounts for your tax return - you can obviously offset more expenses as a business seller, but can't offset any at all as a private one.
To correctly register as a business seller simply go to your Personal Information in your account and to the right of Account Type, which will be showing as 'Individual' you'll see an Edit option.
This doesn't affect your feedback profile or any current listings, it merely upgrades your account so that you're compliant with current consumer and eBay policy.
If you're also selling your own items, just open another eBay account (you can have more than one).
It's also possible that Disney have invoked their Verified Rights Ownership (VeRO) if the crocs you've been selling and still have listed aren't licenced product, and are a copyright infringement.

If this is the case, sudden selling activity on a dormant account raises red flags to eBay, as it could be a sign that the account is being hijacked.
Payouts are therefore placed on hold, until eBay are satisfied that the genuine account holder has returned to sell.
This may include just waiting for tracking to show delivery, or a longer period waiting to see if any case is opened for refunds.
There's no set time for your payouts to be released, but released they will be, as said, when eBay are happy it's you who has returned.
It's frustrating yes, but a good security measure, both for your account and for your buyers.
