Payments being held after 10 years of selling
Summary: timetotime shared their frustration about payments being held on eBay despite a long history of successful transactions. I have been selling on ebay for years, over 100k a year sales and for the last few months all my payments are held. Even the payments that say will be released within 48 hours of delivery are being held for 30 days !!! All this started after being scammed for £1000. Sold an item which was sent special delivery and signed for along with an image. The buyer opened a not recieved case that was closed in my favor, they then appealed with I believe a crime reference number (probably generated online without any investigation) and was refunded £1000 taken directly from me!!! Track record and positive feedback and history obviously mean nothing !! Anybody else had similar issues ?

Mentor3 weeks agoThere are no grounds for a buyer to win an item not received claim if the package was sent Royal Mail Special Delivery and the tracking shows as delivered to the address showing on the order details, along with a signature.
Presumably you asked eBay how this came about, what did they say? Why weren't you covered?

OP3 weeks agoThat's what I had always thought. And as mentioned it because I believe they managed to obtain a crime reference number although ebay would not disclose any information.

Mentor3 weeks agoThat was a chargeback, but you should've been covered by eBay Seller Protection and not lost out.
