Payment on hold/ pending
Hi haven’t sold on eBay for several years, my question is this, I have a payment on hold (pending) and I’ve been told that I should also see it on hold/ pending on my PayPal account, which there isn’t ?
Is this what scammers do?
thanks in advance

Mentor10 months agoGoogle needs to update that page. Payments have not gone into PayPal for eBay sales for quite a few years.
Sellers have to register for eBay's Managed Payments, which means you provide eBay with a bank account for them to send your payouts to. This is mandatory, or you will not receive your money from sales.
Follow my guidelines in my post above to register for Managed Payments if you wish to sell on eBay.

Mentor10 months agoThe payment won't go anywhere near Paypal unless you have a private agreement with the buyer and gave them your email. So it does sound like a scam. Is it a phone? Have you sent it?

Mentor10 months agoInitial payments are held for returning sellers, as eBay wish to see those item safely delivered showing that the genuine owner has returned to sell on that account, and it has not been hijacked .
The mention of PayPal is odd as payments are not directed there any more, but to the bank account you have to register with eBay's Managed Payments. If you haven't register for this yet, follow this process:
You need to provide eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified. The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive, and confirm to eBay.
Once this is completed, you will be able to list items for sale, and receive payouts from those sales.
This will show you how to register for eBay's Managed Payments.
