Payment credited to my eBay account less than expected
I was paid £16.73 by my buyer, then have had advertising fees deducted, leaving the amount at somewhere around £14. Why are the fees credited to my account only listed at £12.82? Thank you for anyone who can help!
Is there ever any way you can actually chat to an agent rather than disappearing down the AI rabbit hole?

Mentor1 month agoFull details of the transaction are shown in item detsils and on your ebay account, it is only a matter of looking as like a bank account money cannot disappear, money in and out is fully shown.

OP1 month agoTotally get that, but I just can't figure out why it's the wrong amount. As I say, I should have received £14.37, not £12.82. Really weird and of course it's virtually impossible to find anyone to speak to! Thank you though...

Mentor1 month ago · EditedYou don't appear to have sold anything for over a year until the two items last week.
eBay's fees may have changed since you last sold anything. It's now free for private sellers to sell on eBay so there is normally no listing ("advertising") fee to pay. Unless of course you use any of the optional "paid for" listing features, like a reserve price of special promotion. Also, buyers no longer pay the seller, they pay eBay.
The cost of delivery was included in the selling price and assuming you used eBay's simple delivery this cost will have been deducted by eBay to pay for the delivery. This will likely account for the payment you received being less than the selling price.
Buyers now also pay a buyer protection fee to eBay when buying from private sellers. This is additional to the selling price, but is payable to eBay, not the seller.

OP1 month agoThanks, that's kind, although still doesn't add up! Yes, I sold two items last week, one yet to be paid for, as my buyer is awaiting delivery. I did pay for the listing to be promoted, but this still would give me £14.37, not the £12.82 I've received. Odd!

Mentor1 month agoRemember of you promoted any item there are ad fees to pay or added any of the following optional listing upgrades, these all come with a non refundable listing fee, payable sale or no sale and charged the second the item goes live .
The link peaseblossom has given will show if any of these were used.
Reserves: 4% of the set reserve ( maximum £150 per item)
Subtitles: £2
Listing in 2 categories: 35p
Gallery Plus: £2.50 ( free for clothes and shoes)
Listings with duration 1 - 3 days 35p
As a tip, before clicking on the final List Item With Displayed Fees button, glance just above it, it should read £0.00 Listing Fee.
If there is a fee amount listed there, you have selected an upgrade, and if you wish, it gives you time to scroll up and remove the payable upgrade.
