Parcel size too small
Hi, a buyer has purchased an item and made payment. Upon double checking the size allowance when trying to get the postage label is states 61x46x46, my item is 75x45x30.
I cant see any option to change it to a larger allocation and cancelling/refunding so I can repost with the correct postage options looks like it will cause me to lose money.
Can anyone help?
Thanks, Neil

Mentor1 week agoIf you end up having to pay extra, there is no obligation on the buyer to pay more, they only need to pay what was on the original listing.
It is up to seller to get dimensions and weight correct, as that is what ebay use to determine method and cost of postage. Seller should make allowances for packaging when giving size etc.
There is now no means for seller to add on postage AND packaging as there used to be, it has to be within the selling price.

Mentor1 week agoYou may be able to change size and/or weight of the label. Click on Get Prepaid Label and under the heading Package details click on the pencil icon and you should get: "No extra charge. Changing your package size won’t cost you anything." Then use the dropdown menu to change dimension or weight.
If not you would have to cancel/refund with buyer's agreement and relist with correct postage.

OP1 week agoThanks but yes I did see that and there was no options to change it to.
I looked at both cancel/refund but it looks like I might lose money doing that but Im still not sure. I promoted the item so guessing I might lose that fee.

Mentor1 week agoPerhaps use a laptop / PC and not the app as some options just are not available there, and check along package size that there is no pencil icon, it's tiny. That allows you to change the size / weight of the package at no extra cost.
Otherwise the other option is to cancel and relist with the correct postage. You need to do this with the Buyer's agreement so selecting ' Buyer Requests to Cancel', will fully refund them and not affect your seller performance.
A refund is sent to whoever paid for the unused SD label:
If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days
If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
