Over 90 days refund- seller asked for bank dispute

Hi all
So back in October bought a laptop, it developed fault, seller agreed send back and will issue refund. Seller acknowledged receipt of laptop and would issue refund
However they stated because item over 90 days they could not issue refund via eBay and asked me to get my bank to raise a dispute , which I did.
However the bank tried to contact the merchant (presume eBay) and had no reply so now escalating
My question is will eBay acknowledge this as a refund even as seller has requested because over 90 days?

Mentor2 months agoAt this stage it is the bank's time limits for a dispute that matter. Any ebay limits are irrelevant.
So if you were in time to raise a dispute with your bank, and you win, you will get a refund. You are almost guaranteed to win.
Your seller could have issued you a refund outside of ebay, e.g cheque, bank transfer, or possibly via PayPal. There was no need for a dispute, unless they think you won't win.

It's a big company on eBay so think they just wanted to refund how I paid or via eBay...
On latest contact with them they said if dispute declined they could raise a refund via PayPal, but want to see proof of dispute declined first. So guess just wait now

Mentor2 months agoAs you are too late then dispute will have been declined automatically, so jsnould have evidence for seller.
You have already returned item to seller, and as said even though over 90 days, seller could have refunded using PayPal or Bank Transfer. Seems to me they are just stalling hoping to avoid refund.
