Ordered purple sunflower seeds which have turned out ordinary yellow flowers, need help to let Ebay know about this

I ordered some Rare Purple Violet Majesty Sunflower Seeds in April. When you plant seeds it takes time for them to flower. These seeds have finally flowered and they are ordinary yellow ones - definitely not purple. The seller closed the return window in May well before the seeds could flower. Also when I go on the Ebay site to get help with a refund it does not go far back enough to show the order i question - so I can't select it to make my refund claim. Please advise how I can make other potential buyers aware of this scam

MentorAug 17, 2026 at 8:38 AMeBay warned you in the user agreement that they don't guarantee that items will be truthfully described. They provide their own money back guarantee if an item doesn't match the description, but this only lasts for 30 days. eBay is a risky place to buy seeds if it will take longer than 30 days to discover whether the description was truthful.

OPAug 17, 2026 at 7:16 PMI complained and the seller offered to send me some different type of seeds. I refused this as articles online about these fake seeds say they are not safe to plant. I noticed that this seller had some other strange items for sale - eg a supplement - capsules that make your buttocks bigger and rounder! Ebay must know very well that they have some sellers offering dodgy items.

You may be too late but have a word with your payment provider.
Purchases go back 7 years, so just edit the period from the basic “ last 90 days”.

MentorAug 16, 2026 at 2:55 PMThere's no such flower, the photos for these are AI or photoshopped, a few people have fallen for this, same as when the rainbow coloured roses started to be sold online.

MentorAug 16, 2026 at 2:17 PMYou can’t effectively. You can report the seller only. Click the question mark against one of their listings, it’s self explanatory from there. Bar that there is nothing you can do except not buy from them again.

OPAug 16, 2026 at 6:57 PMCan't find the question mark. when I try Customer Support I just get stuck in a circular conversation with a stupid bot. I know this isn't a big amount of money but I still think Ebay should check this seller out. If not they are allowing a scammer to use their site

If not visible on the app, turn to a laptop / PC you'll find it with that device.
