Order issue with a seller
Ordered item from a seller but didn’t realise it was the wrong thing. No option to cancel and the seller has refused a request to return and blocks attempts to contact. One beware when you’re buying from them two what can I do about it

OP10 months agoThank you I didn’t know that

Mentor10 months agoThey are private seller, so don't have to agree to cancel.
They don't accept returns.
If item arrives, you can ask seller if you can return it, you would have to pay return tracked postage.
Or as suggested by @jckl1957 resell yourself.

OP10 months agothanks for the response they blocked contact and a return. I have to say this is why I don’t typically buy from eBay and won’t use again. You just can’t trust all the sellers

·10 months agoHave you received the item?
If you bought from a private seller, they do not have to accept cancellation requests, and they can refuse returns.
All you can do is try and sell the unwanted item yourself.

OP10 months agoNo not yet but it’s apparently on its way. I don’t typically buy from eBay and its sellers like this that have put me off so I won’t use again in a hurry. I’m tempted to reject the delivery and contact my bank to recover the payment

·10 months agoIf you do buy from Ebay again, you should check Ebay rules on cancellation, and read everything really carefully before you hit the 'buy' button. I understand that you think the seller has not acted correctly here, but they have not actually done anything wrong.
I don't think you have a legitimate reason to ask your bank for a refund. The seller has acted in good faith and has sent you the item you chose and paid for. Private sellers are allowed to refuse returns (by Ebay and UK law).
Finally, you can't open a return case for an item you have not received.

OP10 months agoThanks for that but there should have been an option to cancel at the start mistakes happen and sellers shouldn’t benefit from
that.

Mentor10 months agoDon't reject the item as it will show attempted delivery / refused , and your bank will not refund you.
