Order delivered to wrong house & eBay are refusing to help
Summary: consists shared an issue where an order was wrongly delivered to a different address, and despite providing evidence to eBay, their claim was closed without resolution. They expressed frustration with eBay and Royal Mail for not taking responsibility. tobiasd4 advised trying to resolve the issue through their payment provider, as eBay often relies on tracking information to make decisions.
I ordered an item from a seller, it was posted quickly, then marked as delivered. However, it was delivered to a different address. I opened a claim and clearly explained everything, had a bit of back-and-forth with support, and even sent them screenshots of the delivery and where my house is on the map. The GPS tracking clearly shows that it was delivered to a different street, the photo of the delivery is of a different front door to mine, yet eBay are flat out refusing to take any responsibility whatsoever and just closed my claim and stopped replying to me. The seller has contacted Royal Mail who have told them it's up to eBay to ask for compensation. I've also got in touch with Royal Mail myself who've told me there's nothing they can do.
It's not an expensive item but it seems highly negligent for eBay to just flat out refuse to help. It's their postage label and their responsibility to sort it out and refund me if the item I bought doesn't get delivered. Is there anything I can do to escalate this at all?

Mentor3 weeks agoUnfortunately this happens a lot, ebay go by tracking that proves delivery.
No point have tracking if not believed.
If ebay have refused appeal, try your payment provider.

OP3 weeks agoSeems a bit strange that the policy is that as long as it's delivered somewhere that's fine, doesn't matter if it was the customer's house? The GPS tracking shows an entirely different street. Worried that a chargeback will have eBay banning me so not really an option.
