Hi , I placed an offer of £200 on an item . I got a confirmation from eBay of acknowledgment stating I should here from the seller within 24 hours. I received a note from eBay stating that the seller refused my offer only to sell it at £1 more (£201) with no counter offer given by the seller. The bidding was due to end in another 4 days so when I checked on number of bids there was only 1 bidder other than my offer . When I checked my offer in my profile the re was no mention of offer relating to the item in question, and possibly been deleted by eBay. My argument is that when i placed my offer, there had been no bids placed on that item, the seller accepts the 1st bidder that came along, why? Surely the bidder was set to get more if he let the bidding continue if he was not happy with my offer and that £1 made all the differance. Come on guys! What do you think is going on here?

Mentor4 months agoNothing odd here, the seller may have thought his item would reach more than £200 in auction so did not accept your offer, let the auction run, but it ended only £1 more than your £200. It ended with a winning bid so the seller is obliged to sell it for that price.

Mentor4 months agoWhile an offer is waiting to be accepted anyone can place a bid. That bid then ends the offer process.
I have no idea why the seller ended the auction early.
