"Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay" violation
My listing was just removed for policy violation: "Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay policy" - can anyone advise specifically which part of this may have caused this? I am guessing it is an automatic/AI thing rather than a human at eBay choosing to do so. As you can see I am not offering to sell anything outside of eBay. I'm asking here because I am sure it will take hours/days for them to get back to me on this, if at all. I have started an appeal. This site is so frustrating these days! Thanks.

Sphinx Sierra CXG647W CXG Vintage Electronic Chess Computer 1992 - SPARES/REPAIR
Important, please read:-
○ Unfortunately the set is missing one pawn... If the missing pawn is ever located I would be very happy to inform the buyer!
○ There has been some corrosion in the battery compartment, leading to three of the terminals becoming detached. For this reason I am unable to test the board and it is likely to need repair work to make it functional. I will include the three detached terminals (as shown in the photo) if the buyer requests them.
What is included:-
○ Electronic Board (with aforementioned fault)
○ 31 chess pieces (one pawn missing) in drawstring bag
○ Original box and card liner tray, in fairly decent condition - some light wear (see photos)
○ "Helpful Hints" cassette tape! (untested)
○ User Manual booklet
○ "How to play chess" booklet
○ Troubleshooting guide sheet
○ Electronic guarantee sheet (damaged, see photo)
This webpage appears to offer some additional technical information about the set:-
https://www.spacious-mind.com/html/sphinx_sierra.html
The set has been in storage for many years and only lightly used back in the mid 1990s, so could potentially still have plenty of life left in it if fully restored... Otherwise makes for a good set of spares or replacement parts if you possess another copy.

Will be carefully wrapped and sent via Royal Mail Tracked48 service (2kg Small parcel)
Thanks for looking, if you have any questions or would like additional photos please just ask!

OP7 months agoThank you, have had to recreate the auction - as the other one could not be edited or even accessed! Lucky I had all the text I used saved in a notepad file first, as that took a while to put together. It's up now and has not been taken down so far. I still think this could easily be flagged up during the create stage - as opposed to allowing you to list it and then effectively accusing you of doing something wrong and preventing access to be able to fix it. Thanks for the reply.

OP7 months agoHa, is that it? You would think it could at least just tell me exactly that, or even automatically remove the link. In the selling form it could even highlight that and say "Fix the highlighted errors" before letting you submit the auction.
This site feels so backwards these days, I remember the good old days of eBay where you could provide informative external links 😄 although I accept there could potentially be some risk there. Funny how it's the members providing the answers as well, not the company itself.........
Thanks for the reply, I will try again with my listing. Cheers! 👍
