Offer on my camera
Yesterday I relisted a camera that I wanted to sell after a time waster from Australia who supposedly had agreed the price on the 27th Jan26 but had not paid the price to ebay so there were no funds in my account.
He wanted me to post it to an address in the U.K. when I told him that ebay had advised me not to send it as no monies had been paid, I have heard no more from this seller.
Yesterday I relisted my item and this morning I received an offer of £1 less than the price that I wanted, the buyer came from Canada this time but wanted it delivered to a U.K. address the same as the other buyer, and like the other buyer had no previous history and had only just become an ebay member.
Has anyone else been scammed like this and why can't ebay do anything to stop this happening ????

Mentor6 months agoIf international buyers are using a UK delivery address, which may be a freight forwarding company, then this isn't unusual.
However, you're taking a big risk selling that top dollar camera anywhere unless the payment is cash on collection, which you can't do via eBay.

Mentor6 months agoAs you are a new seller it's likely eBay will withhold payment until the item has been delivered or at least 14-30 days

Mentor6 months agoAre you sure these international buyers are not using a UK forwarding Company?
Has eBay sent you a message to send the item to a UK address, then everything's is above board.
If these buyers are asking you to send to a different address than that which eBay have provided on the order details, then yes, you ignore this, and block the buyer from returning to your sales.
Add their username ID here:

Just be sure as above, this is not a UK forwarding Company a UK address confirmed to you by eBay on the order details. As then, it's perfectly safe to post, you are liable only to send as far as that UK address eBay provided, and no further.

Mentor6 months agoBuyers don't pay into your account, they pay ebay who will eventually release the money into your account.
However if you received no notification from ebay that the buyer had paid, they had not paid.
