Obviously fraudulent listings
Summary: zapthedingbat discusses their frustration with observing a high number of fraudulent GPU listings on eBay. They highlight the lack of effective action taken against these scams, suggesting that eBay's response is more reactive than proactive. Additionally, zapthedingbat notes that any posts pointing out these issues are likely to be removed, hinting at a cyclical problem of ineffective countermeasures and subsequent scams.
I regularly monitor listings of high-performance workstation GPU cards for personal interests, and I have observed numerous listings that are blatantly and egregiously fraudulent. Unfortunately, any attempts to report such listings frequently result in a response indicating that no action has been taken. It is perplexing why eBay appears to take little action in addressing these issues.
If I were inclined to be cynical, I might suggest that implementing basic counter-fraud measures incurs costs. Conversely, allowing fraudulent listings to proceed enables eBay to collect listing fees, while the financial burden of compensating victims and perpetrators is absorbed by excessive 'protection' fees, ultimately not affecting their profit margins.
These listings are problematic, yet eBay remains reactive rather than proactive. It is only after a buyer falls victim to a scam, once funds have been exchanged, and complaints arise about non-delivery, that the fraudulent listing and associated user are removed, only to be replaced promptly by new scams.

Mentor2 weeks agoNo point reporting a listing, as AI will decide no issue,
ebay never see the item, so won't know if item is genuine or not.
All buyers are covered by ebay 30 day MBG.
If sellers are getting lots of returns, only then will ebay consider taking action.
