Obvious scam seller has removed my negative feedback?
Summary: bonciello shared concerns about a problematic transaction with a seller who allegedly removed negative feedback on eBay. They described receiving a faulty phone and a partial refund despite returning it correctly, ultimately getting a full refund after a case was opened with eBay. john1297576 explained that sellers can't directly remove feedback, but eBay might if certain language is used. *vyolla* noted that once feedback is removed, it can't be reinstated and expressed relief over the refund. The situation raises concerns about eBay's handling of feedback, impacting trust on the platform.
Hi all, wondering who can help as I don't want other people to fall victim.
I purchased a phone last month from a seller called phonehavens.
They sent me the phone, was listed as "new in box, unsealed"
The phone didn't work at all, I returned it the next day and the seller gave a partial refund (50%) as apparently I didn't return the phone in original condition which I did.
I opened a case and ebay sided with me and I received the full refund. I left negative feedback to the seller.
The feedback has been removed, and looking at other negative feedback, they are doing the exact same thing to other people.
The negative feedback I read at the time has also dissapeared. Why is eBay allowing this to happen on their platform? Totally puts me off buying again if you can't even trust the feedback to make it to the sellers account.
I'm not happy with just the full refund (although rightfully so). This seller should have their account closed.
I've tried to raise this with eBay, but because they have closed the case I cannot respond. Cannot find contact details anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.

OP2 weeks agoI explained what had happened with the phone nicely and ended with avoid these scam artists. If calling it out for what it is, is against guidelines then thats pretty terrifying. Seems the seller is in a constant loop of doing this to buyers. Thanks for your responses appreciate it

Mentor2 weeks ago · EditedOnly eBay can remove feedback, a seller can't.
There's little point in pursuing this with eBay now that the feedback has been removed, it can't be reinstated.
We don't know the wording of it, so can't see if it breached any part of eBay's feedback policy.
Great that you finally managed to get a full refund though.

Mentor2 weeks agoThere are rules about what can be said in feedback, and if the wrong words are used, seller can ask ebay to remove the fb. Seller cannot remove feedback.
Feedback is best kept brief and to the point. Saying too much increases the chances of removal.
