NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR COLLECTION OF PACKAGES AS PART OF SIMPLE DELIVERY!
Now with Simple Delivery, with no Post Office in this town, I find myself having to pay for a collection of packages. A double whammy. When I used to be able to charge for the postage and collection at least I could break even. It is now a case of how much do I lose each time I send something. My prices are on the lower end of average but if I put up the price for things nobody will buy. I'd like to just break even as I'm not setting out to make a huge profit! eBay is getting worse for private sellers by the day! The day is coming when I find somewhere else to sell. This is getting f.....g stupid.

OP9 months agoWe lost our Post Office a few years ago and since then up until 6th August, when SD became mandatory, I could pay R.M. 30p to collect ( It was free until about then) and that still meant I didn't lose on anything. Now I'm given no option s to arrange collection and so SD is completely useless. There isn't anywhere local who collect parcels apart from Yodel and that works out expensive. It seems like after 15 years of being able to sell stuff I have no need for eBay is not the cost effective way to do it. If nothing changes then at the end of the year I think it is probably 'au-revoir' eBay.

Mentor11 months agoAlthough I am not of Evri or Yodel or parcel lockers,
Have you checked if local shops are agents for any of the above.
Obviously you will need to choose these carriers when listing items,
Evri is the only one available with SD at he moment, unless you do freepost.

Mentor11 months agoYou can still factor in a collection charge, just to the item price.

OP9 months agoThen on-one will buy. Things are slow enough at the moment anyway

Mentor11 months agoI thought unless it has changed, with Simple Delivery and home collection Royal Mail do not charge their 30p collection fee ? 🤔
Happy to be corrected if this is wrong ?
