I received a message from eBay saying that a set of lights that I purchased were recalled due to non compliance of the plug/adapter. This item was purchased I 2025, they included a link to an item withdrawn from sale on Amazon in 2023 which is not identical just similar and has a different adapter shown.
Well it doesn't seem to apply to the item I have so I'd like clarification from eBay, however this reason to contact eBay does not exist and AI spins me around faster than a washing machine. I did message the seller but haven't received a reply. eBay in any case seem to have washed their hands of the issue because it was bought more than 6 months ago. How can I contact a human at eBay about this?

Mentor4 months agoeBay's deadline for claims is always 30 days, without exception. It's also too late to get a refund from your card, if you used it. If the value makes it worthwhile you could try money claim online.

OP4 months agoWell it's not worth chasing financially I'd just like to know why the recall they link isn't this exact version so that I can make an informed decision on whether to still use them or not! It's not helpful to send such misleading information without any way to make contact.

Mentor4 months agoI think a full list of product recalls is published on .gov.uk. ebay tends to throw a very wide net when it issues it's version.
