Not heard from eBay regarding open case
I received some climbing shoes that are severely worn with a hole in the toe. The listing photos were purposely taken from an angle that didn't show it. Seller refusing a refund. Have raised a case with eBay and told to wait 48 hours for a reply and its been 7 days and heard nothing. Any suggestions?

OP3 weeks agoSo I keep trying to post a screenshot of the current situation to see if I've got this right or not but it obviously breaks some eBay rules as it keeps being deleted. Don't know what to do now. No progress from eBay after waiting 8 days and told 48 hours. Utterly useless. If I don't hear anything I'm going to just give up and delete my account and never experience being ripped off again with no support from the company.

It does sound a little odd, the eBay returns system is largely automated and if your seller ignores the return and eBay have to step in then they usually just issue a refund.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf you opened a case for item not as described within the 30 day timeframe the seller has three days to agree to the return and provide a label. If they don't then the option to escalate to ebay should appear in the case. Ebay don't reply as such, you have to manage the case or it times out.

OP3 weeks agoHi. So I have escalated to eBay as you described and told I would have a response within 48 hours but that was 7 days ago.

Mentor3 weeks agoCan you not follow up on the reply saying you should hear within 48 hours. If you opened the correct case “Not as described” seller cannot refuse to accept return, and you escalate after 3 days.
What sort of case did you open?
Usually I would have expected ebay to refund without the need to return the shoes, without the need for promises that are not kept.

That's what I believed I have done. I opened a case re item not as described. Tired to contact seller but they refused. Waited three days then got eBay involved and heard nothing for 7 days.
