No tracking updates after item dropped off at PO
Summary: The discussion addresses a concern raised by victory-militaria about the lack of tracking updates for an item dropped off at the post office. john1297576 seems to provide responses, but the details of their interaction are not available from the provided text.
Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on the best way forward here. I sold an item on eBay in early March, got the postage QR code from eBay and dropped it off at my local PO over a month ago. The buyer contacted me today asking if it had been posted as they haven't received it. When I checked the tracking info (Royal Mail 48 service by the way) there are no updates after it was dropped off? When I try and go through the Royal Mail online claim for lost post I get the following message: We’re sorry, you’re unable to proceed as the tracking number indicates you are not eligible to claim. How can I not be able to make a claim for something sent tracked? Not sure on the best way to proceed so any advice appreciated. Thanks

Mentor4 months agoIt was not wise to start at 99p and use an expensive reserve, fee 4% of reserve payable sold or unsold.
As there is a bid showing that is why you could not edit. Far simpler and a lot cheaper to start at a price you are happy to accept, with Best Offer.

Mentor4 months agoYou are the seller, if you used Simple Delivery, the buyer opens a not received case, and ebay should refund, not you. Buyer has to open case within 30 days of estimated delivery date.
I would help if you were aware of how SD is supposed to work.
