No shipping exclusions yet overseas buyer claims seller does not ship to their country
I use eBay's Simple Delivery and GSP for international sales but have had several occurrences recently where potential buyers have informed me they can't buy my item because I do not ship to their country. By default I have no country exclusions, yet I recently sold some CDs to a buyer in China.
Items affected have been sheet music books and a record cleaning product and the buyers have been in Australia and USA. Any ideas why this has occurred and how to resolve? I have changed International Shipping from GSP to other Postal Service (Royal Mail Tracked) but the overseas buyer has yet to tell me whether this has worked. Appreciate any help available.

Mentor5 months agoGSP do block some countries. If you're using direct overseas postage (cheaper for buyers anyway), if anyone still has problems you can put their ID on your exemption list to lift any blocks:

OP5 months agoThanks for the explanation and suggestion. I did use direct postage for a recent blocked transaction to Australia which sorted this particular GSP blocking issue.
The problem with using direct postage for the USA is that all duties (Trumps tariffs) are payable by the sender in advance, something which GSP takes care of in the background and there's no way of calculating this and building it into costs AFAIK.

Mentor5 months agoGSP should not be adding tariffs now, they were ruled illegal by the US supreme court about 10 days ago.
