No information from seller
Summary: bandqpaul expressed frustration over a lack of response from a seller on eBay regarding collection details for purchased items. Despite attempting to cancel the purchase, eBay denied the cancellation. papso22 advised opening a case for 'item not received' using eBay's money-back guarantee. tressygirl confirmed the correct approach and mentioned contacting the payment provider if all else fails. john1297576 raised concern that a cancellation request might prevent opening a 'not received' case.
I bought some items on ebay which were collection only and contacted the seller, I have twice asked for a contact number and postcode to arrange the collection, after 6 days I received no information that I requested, I cannot collect without the information, I decided to cancel the purchase as they were not forth coming with the information, but the cancellation has been denied, I have paid via PayPal and have a fair bit of money tied up but cannot collect as I have not received the information to do so

Mentor2 weeks agoWhat you should have done was open a not received case, to get a refund. Having requested a cancellation which has been declined, you may not now be able to open the correct case.

Mentor2 weeks agoCancelling was not the way to handle this.
What you do is open a case for item not received using the ebay money back guarantee.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedMany thanks for the reply, so in the cancellation denied message from eBay it said it was too late to cancel and I should receive the item by the 30th September and then I could return them, but obviously its collect only, I messaged the seller for the phone number and postcode again and am waiting to see if they reply, if I don't hear in a couple of days do I open a item not received then or wait until the 30th, I bought the item on the 16th of September so am aware that I only have 30 days I believe to do the money back guarantee.
Is that correct?

Mentor2 weeks agoYes, you are correct with your timelines.
Odd that they do not accede to a cancellation or provide contact details, but maybe an emergency has occurred ,that took precedence over eBay.
Whatever the reason, I believe the cancellation request is valid for 3 days before it expires. Try when that time lapses , to open a case for item not received.
If all fails, you'll need to turn to your payment provider for help with your refund.

Mentor2 weeks ago · EditedYou should be able to open a case 7 days after payment, so the option ought to be available now. Do not wait, there is no point.
