Need to know urgently, did I login on a spoof ebay site here?
I just made a purchase about an hour ago. I got to the ebay page via Avast secure browser. I found what I wanted and then logged in, and bought the item. I just checked the order details to make sure I had bought the correct colour from options.
Then I got a bit scared.
As I noticed something odd about the page. The URL was "vod.befr.ebay.be "
Checked the security certificate. This is what it said:

Common Name (CN) vod.befr.ebay.be

Is this for real or a spoof page I suddenly ended up on? The URL is very strange.
Please, anyone who can help, I urgently need advice about this.
I tried contacting ebay. Of the contact options provided, there is not one box I can click on which is relevant to my problem, so I am stick and not able to get through.
Thank you for any help.

OP6 months agopeaseblossom, thank you very much. It's probably okay then and definitely connected to ebay. But how I ended up on a Belgian page with a Belgian URL, iI don't know. It freaked me a bit to be honest. I would have expected Avast to flag it if it had been dodgy, but nothing from them.
I wonder if it could be something to do with the seller I bought from? Even though they are based in Birmingham, maybe they source stuff from Belgium. They had "euro" something in their username, and there were quite a number of graphics on the listing.
I got a normal confirmation email from them anyway.
Thank you for your help.

Mentor6 months agoYou're welcome. Yes, I would think it's to do with the seller. Maybe they originally registered on ebay.be which is the Belgium site.

Mentor6 months agoAccording to Google AI: The subdomain vod.befr.ebay.be serves as a technical infrastructure component for delivering video on demand or large media assets for eBay's French-speaking Belgian site.
So not a spoof site by the sound of it but you might like to clear cookies.
