National insurance again
Hi
I'm really hoping ebay reads these messages as I'm struggling with a very simple National Insurance problem.
The NI scheme was rehashed some years ago so some of us have new format NI identification numbers & some of us have the old style.
The ebay platform does not appear to be configured to accept the old and the new formats.
Long short I have an old id number and ebay won't accept it.
Crazy right!!
Has anyone else had this problem / know a work around.
Are ebay aware - do you have a better system??
I would like to be able to actually get the money my sales have generated & I don't want my accounts frozen.
Any suggestions gratefully received & hopefully ebay is listening too.

The national insurance number format hasn't changed since 1948, when it began.
As advised, are you sure that you're looking at the right number?

·6 months agoI am 68 and have had the same NI number all of my life, since I was 16.
The format is LL NN NN NN L where L represents a letter and N is a number. I entered my NI number on Ebay several months ago.
You can find your NI number on payslips, P45s etc,
There is no other format, unless you have a temporary reference number. You can confirm this by going to the gov.uk website - certainly a reliable source.

Are you absolutely certain you are trying to enter your NI number? There was a post several months ago where a member was trying to enter their National Health number which clearly did not work.
