My uploaded images appear as solid colour blocks
Summary: iditnick is experiencing an issue where photos taken with their phone and uploaded to eBay appear as solid color blocks. The images are within eBay's size specifications but aren't displaying correctly. red_magpie suggests resizing the images to eBay's recommended size of 1600 x 1600 pixels, as larger images may not be processed correctly by eBay's conversion system.
Hi,
I have taken photo's with my phone as I generally do, copied them to my computer and the images are not being accepted when uploaded or at least they appear as solid blocks of colour. They are about 4MB and 4000pixels x 3000pixels. Both of these seem to be within the spec of Ebay, but frankly I have done this for so long it would astonish me if for some reason my files were no longer appropriate.
I have tried everything, - YouTube seems to offer nothing, perhaps someone among you might have some experience.

Mentor1 week agoeBay recommends the size of 1600 x 1600 pixels for photos.
Although your 4000 x 3000 images are within eBay's size limit of 12MB, why risk sending such high resolution photos when you know eBay will automatically convert to their default size?
It may be that eBay's conversion program can't cope with such large file sizes. I'd resize them to eBay's recommended size, and try again.
