I literally need help with this and will appreciate any....found one of the contents of my stolen royal mail parcel on Ebay...reached out to the seller and expressed that i have made a report to the police and even pleaded for my item to be returned, she has completely ignored me, police is being slow on doing anything. Ebay has refused to take the item down. I really do not understand how people comfortably steal other people's items that they have worked really hard night and day to purchase. The item was actually bought on ebay and i have receipts....just tired of everything!

Mentor6 months agoI actually bought it off Ebay. Sent it to my friend's house as I had travelled and could not receive it, she made videos immediately she received it and sent to me.
This is what you said, you bought item on ebay, you admit it was delivered correctly.
Your friend posted it to you, RM lost it.
So again, I state, NOT an ebay issue.
If someone else is selling your undelivered item, take it up with RM, but as you were not the sender (your friend was), it is them that need to contact RM.

Mentor6 months agoThe seller is in California and item located in the USA, so whatever do you think UK police can do about that.?

Mentor6 months agoYou're heading towards being sued by that seller, you can't slander somebody in public domain in that manner.
Royal Mail lost your item, you believe that this seller has it. As mentioned by @jckl1957 , Royal Mail lost items are re-sold at auction, so this seller could have bought the shoes there.
Presumably you got your money back anyway via a Royal Mail claim?
How do you know that these are the exact same shoes? There's no serial number, just a style code which will be on every pair of the same blue shoes.

OP6 months agoRoyal mail has claimed that they did not sell it at any auction because the item did not reach their Returns center.
Its simple, if its a false accusation. The seller should please state how they got the item.

Mentor6 months agoUnder UK law they can sue you, they don't have to prove anything regarding the shoes, I'd be worried about that and would be contacting eBay and asking them to remove that comment before it could turn into a legal case.
Did you not put in a claim with Royal Mail and get your money back?

Mentor6 months agoThat seller has been on eBay for 10 years, no negatives, all excellent positive feedback, this doesn't seem a candidate for dealing with stolen goods.
I do agree with the others, that this seller could take legal action against you, for your comment as it would no doubt harm their future selling ability.

Mentor6 months agoHave I missed something here?
You said it was delivered to your friend, who then sent it to you, which then got lost.
Nothing to do with ebay or seller, it was delivered correctly.
Your friend needs to claim from RM.

OP6 months ago@tobiasd4 yes, you did miss the part that Royal mail declared it missing in transit on its way back to me and months down the line, its being sold on ebay.

·6 months agoHopefully, your friend posted the shoes to you tracked and insured.
Then, when the items were not delivered, they claimed from Royal Mail and refunded you.
So, you should not have been at a financial loss at the time.
I don't know why you are making the assumption that your parcel was stolen.
If RM can't deliver items, they sell them at auction.
It may be that the current seller obtained them legitimately.
To be honest, if I got a message from a stranger suggesting I was selling stolen items, I would ignore it.
Also, it looks very much as if you purchased another item from the seller in order to leave them libellous feedback. You do need to act more cautiously. You have publicly accused a seller of dealing in stolen goods, made a malicious purchase from a seller, and broken Ebay's rules by leaving negative comments on a green positive feedback dot.

OP6 months ago1)It is not an assumption. The parcel was indeed stolen as Royal mail claimed to have conducted a search for the parcel twice and it was not found.
2)From Royal mail's clear explanation, it never got to their Returns center from where it would have been sold at auction like you suggest.
3)If the current seller got it legitimately, he/she will genuinely respond by explaining how they obtained the item as any legitimate person will want to counter a 'false' accusation.
4)Lastly, the items are quite expensive and I do not think anyone will stay calm seeing items they genuinely worked hard to get being sold by a stranger on ebay.
Thank you.

Mentor6 months agoWhat was the item ?
What is the evidence you have that this is the very same item, do you have serial numbers or something, to prove this item is the same ?

OP6 months ago@tressygirl yes, I do. I actually bought it off Ebay. Sent it to my friend's house as I had travelled and could not receive it, she made videos immediately she received it and sent to me. same serial number, marks on the box and everything. It however got 'lost' in transit to me via Royal mail who adamantly claimed it was not missing and that I should wait for it to get to me, weeks turned to months and then, more months... Found it on Ebay on ebay and it is currently still there. mentally exhausting!

Mentor6 months agoThis is what eBay says about the sale of stolen property. I've reproduced it in full as it's one of these annoying AI summaries which eBay sometimes seems to force on us instead of the actual policy, which it wouldn't didpaly. There is no point in providing the URL as it's only transient.
The sale of stolen property is not allowed on eBay as it is against the law.
Stolen property from private individuals or property taken without authorization from companies or government cannot be listed for sale.
If you see stolen property on eBay, you should contact local law enforcement immediately.
eBay works with law enforcement in any attempts to sell stolen property and may take actions such as removing listings, issuing warnings, restricting activity, or suspending accounts if this policy is violated.
This policy helps ensure compliance with laws and keeps eBay a safe and reputable marketplace.
For more details, you can visit the stolen property policy.

OP6 months ago@red_magpie thank you so much for your response. I have reported to the police and have a crime reference number already but they are super slow in doing anything. I'm just livid at the seller's attitude by not responding at all even after sending her the case police report.
