Multiple items for sale, 2 bidders now saying they cannot bid on more than one item. Why?
Some buyers getting this message on my items:
"You are unable to purchase this item due to restrictions from the seller. You have winning bids, submitted offers or bought 1 item(s) from this seller in the past 10 days. Please contact the seller for more information. (5001)"
I've checked my seller restrictions/settings and there is nothing there that should prevent buyers from bidding on/buying more than one of the items I have for sale. What's going on here?
Two messages received today from two different buyers telling me they get this messsage.

Mentor5 months agoGo to your Site Preferences and Manage Bidders.
There, you have probably selected that buyers cannot buy more than ** items in a period of ** days. Untick that box.
That option is there for sellers to select if they wish, and it's to stop any malicious buyer buying several items in a short period, and the trashing that seller's account with negative feedbacks.

OP5 months agoHi,
Thanks for your response.
I have already looked here and the box is unticked. Is this a shadow setting on my account or that of my bidders? First bidder seemed to overcome it, but I'm not sure how.
For anyone wondering, the menu route in the UK for anyone who needs to know is My eBay > Preferences > Account > Selling Preferences > Managing who can buy from you [Edit]
Cheers.

Mentor5 months agoTry ticking and then unticking.
It's not a shadow setting and it's not something your buyers can impact.

OP5 months agoThank you for the suggestion. Have tried that. Fingers crossed it works.
Spoke to eBay custom support on the phone and they say it's nothing on my end. Nothing they can see anyway. So still not assured that it's full resolved. If it's nothing my end, the message sent to the bidder should not say that it is.
