Moved to Australia - now Australian Bank Account cant access funds
Hi there
I moved to Australia six months ago and am unable to access funds despite several calls to Ebay. First of all they said I would have to open an Australian ebay account and they would transfer the funds. They didn't. Today, several weeks later, I called them again and was told to use Payoneer. However, I couldn't get the payoneer app to work and when I looked at what google had to say about it, it said that you cant use it to transfer funds from Ebay when you are in Australia. Can anyone help please? Many thanks.

Mentor10 months agoI can only suggest you explain the problem to your firmer UK bank to see if they would open an account for the ebay money to go to then instruct the UK bank to send money when received to Australia.

Mentor10 months agoBit late now but when you moved to Australia you should have opened a new ebay account with all the relevant information for how ebay works in Australia. I don't even know if they have managed payments over there.
If you are talking about funds earned when in the UK then you should have removed those before moving.

OP10 months agoleft they didnt close it and i was being charged. As thet could see i had
requested closure approx six months earlier they refunded those charges.
But it sits in ny ebay account. I can't put in Australian details because
the system wont accept them.

I presume you don't not have the bank account registered in the UK to withdraw it to, or if you have, there is an issue with that. If you have I am surprised it wasn't paid in the October clearance sweep of account credits.

OP10 months agoclosed the account, or had fonr the steps but it hadnt happenef, I was
still paying for it for six months or more after having closed it. They
put the refund in the account and now I cant close it and cant get the
funds in my bank! I suggested they pay it by paypal but they wont do that
not even as a guest and cant get them to pay into my australian account as
it is a uk ebay account and they wont accept it. They asked a ridiculous
question like what email did you use for this five years ago! Five years
ago! I couldn't remember as i have had various businesses and websites so
they said I had failed security!! Never mind the fact I have been with
them about 16yrs and still have an email address have been using for past
so many years!

Only Customer Services there can help you, you just need to keep contacting them until you receive a CS agent who can provide you with the correct procedure now to release your funds.
Unfortunately, it can take a few goes, well certainly here in the UK, to receive a correct response from CS ! 🙄
