More "Simple" Delivery confusion, is this correct?
Hello,
I sold an item that has been listed before Simple Delivery existed and it did not have any size/weight details (I see it as pointless to enter these before you've packaged something up because you won't know until that point.)
It gave me a prepaid label that is for a parcel size too small for the item.
In the past, I would just void the prepaid label and then update the order with a new tracking number I purchased myself, but apparently things have changed yet again and I can no longer add tracking numbers to orders?
The eBay rep on the phone told me I have to send a message to my buyer telling them to ignore the tracking number on their order page and instead to use the new one.
My two issues/questions/concerns/annoyances etc. with this.
1) If I were a buyer and were told to do this, I would immediately be suspicious that they were up to something, it's not something I would expect to be told after ordering something from anywhere.
2) If I can't add the new tracking number to the order, isn't it just going to keep complaining at me that I haven't posted it yet? Won't it look bad on my account if I have an order that is basically unfulfilled?
Was I given the right information?

Mentor8 months agoYes, ebay have removed the option of changing the tracking number. If you buy your own postage all you can do is send the new number to buyer in a message. If you open the original label that should at least mark it as dispatched.
If buyer paid the postage it will be refunded to them in 30 days. If you paid for it you can cancel it here:

The bit about needing the new postage to be tracked no longer applies, apparently. And you would be able to enter the new number into a "not received" case if necessary.
The alternative is to cancel the transaction, with buyer's agreement, and relist with correct postage for them to buy again.
