Missing item claiming as a seller EVRI

Question

Item we have sold has gone AWOL marked as dispatched we have dropped it off at the collection point and it seems to have moved no further

This is our first missing parcel refunding the buyer isn't an issue but how do we claim for the item

What the amount of time we should wait to say its officially lost please?

In that case ebay is responsible for any items that go missing, not you.

The only problem might be that the parcel isn't showing as in the network, just dropped off, but the buyer still needs to open a case for item not received and ebay should take it from there.
