Missing Item
I purchased a car part on 31/10/26 I also paid aa courier fee totals cost are nearly £200 I have contact the seller 3 times during the week to enquire about tracking no & couriers details I got a scant reply so today I asked for a update on my order after they posted it was collected on teh 5the Nov & got no response I then tried to report item not delivered but Ebay has blocked any report as they say the ordered has been delivered ?
I am now awaiting until Monday to report Ebay & the seller to my bank for Fraud because I beleive I am the victim of a possible scam ?

OP10 months agoI have reached a resolution with the seller thank you all for your input its very appreciated for taking time to add your thoughts & opinions my biggest trouble is as I reach 70 my patience is almost non existent as yopu may already know 🙄👍

Mentor10 months agoNo one is disputing that seller is not being helpful.
The issue is that as far as ebay are concerned you gave seller collection code, which means they might not help to sort if item does not arrive.
Give a few more days & then try contacting ebay.

OP10 months agoMaybe they have pulled a fast one by requesting the code meaning they have completed the order but they have no proof I have the item as they still have it I contacted the seller & it appears he is either not bothered or acting stupidly awkward I know if I paid by card & eBay refuse to take action the bank have the legal rights to recover the money from ebay as they controlled the transaction on behalf of the seller & the cost of the courier as has been suggested to me I might even request a return of the item which will really throw a spanner in the works

The cheaper ones can take up to 5 days.

OP10 months agoIf the part was collected form their parts yard in Rochdale why would it take 14 days to deliver it to Cheshire ? I believe I'm heading for a battle with Ebay & this seller it does not take a week to travel down a motorway in a van ??

Mentor10 months agoIt's not just what you perceive to be travel time and distance, it may be a cheaper service whereby it stops and is stored with item items going to the same area. It's a bulky item.

OP10 months agoMaybe but I have never heard of a courier taking a fortnight to deliver a parcel anywhere in the UK most logistical deliveries are done overnight

Mentor10 months agoIt likely won't take 14 days, but you've an update from 2 days ago so you know it's in transit.
As you mention, if you paid via debit card then you're covered by your bank against your item not arriving.

How do you know that it was collected on the 5th and is in Lancs?
Where are you seeing that?

OP10 months agoThere is the Money taken from the bank which will show their business address & Ebay transaction can verify in court if needed as I intend to recover my costs if its a scam

Mentor10 months agoBanks protect people from fraud if a fraud has been committed, but if it hasn't then the claim against the bank is fraudulent.
Anyway, that's not a listing number, that's your order number.
Copy and paste the exact listing title here, we can search for that instead.

Are we talking about the Peugeot bumper that was a collection in person listing?
Did you book a courier and pay or did the seller book a courier ? It says on their listing that they can send items out, but it may take up to 14 days.
You know that the seller is a business and has their contact details on their listing so you could just phone them?

Seriously, I can't see a fraud here. If they're sending the item out to you and it may take up to 14 days then I wouldn't start worrying until 14 days have passed.
You mentioned that it was collected on the 5th - that's two days ago. It's not going to arrive that soon.
I certainly wouldn't be trying to claim not received either via eBay or your bank until 14 days has passed.

steelyard5609, this board is supported by volunteers with a lot of experience, but any help we can offer is only as good as the factual information you provide. Which has been almost zero.
From what little you have told us this appears to be an issue of disputed delivery or collection, which you mistakenly assume must be a scam. In fact, problems with delivery or collection are common and arise for many reasons. But the advice that responders here can give depends upon the full facts, which in this case we don't know.
You haven't responded to several requests to tell us the item number, which would have provided a starting point for the information we need. Unless you feel able to open up a bit more it looks like being impossible to help you.

Or did you arrange your own carrier?
If the latter then you are not covered by eBay MBG.
If seller posted item, you can open item not received case 1 day after estimated delivery date.

Mentor10 months agoIf there's no tracking connected to the item ebay wouldn't think it was delivered. If the estimated delivery date has passed try from here - select "Report an item you didn't receive":

OP10 months agoThe report I put on the auto response was detailed but as eBay keep answering with the same robotic menu making it I impossible to update any info ?

OP10 months agoThanks but I think the Bank will have to step in to get my money back IF I have not got the item by Monday 9th as Ebay are being shall we say almost non existent due to their auto generated menus
Ridiculous I cannot report a seller because they stick a box up saying the sale has been completed when I have nothing to confirm my purchase

OP10 months agoEbay has stated on their customer service portal the item has been collected on the 5th of Nov & teh seller is refusing any communication so its obvious that its a scam its doesn't take 2 days to move a parcel from Lancs to Chesire ?

·10 months agoEbay would not usually close a case for 'item not received' unless there was tracking showing delivery.
If you look at the item in your 'purchases' and check 'order details', it should show the tracking number.
If you find and check that, what does it say on the carrier's website?
