Missed delivery, returned, then reshipped. How to confirm Delivery?
Summary: chris_harke described an issue where a purchase was marked as delivered but was returned to the seller due to poor communication from a delivery service. They coordinated with the seller to resend the item outside of eBay because neither eBay nor the shipping company took responsibility. Thanks to very poor comms from a delivery service, an item I purchased was returned to the seller. In eBay tracking the item appears “delivered” but to the sender.
We then agreed to resend the item outside of the eBay platform -
Because both eBay and the shipping company refused to take responsibility.
The item was eventually delivered yesterday. I’m happy and want the seller to get their money. I’ve left a review. But until now, the funds haven’t been released.
How can a buyer help to confirm delivery if the shipping service used was outside of the eBay platform?

Mentor1 month agoThere's nothing you can do. They will get the money but it will be delayed for at least 14 days. If they are new sellers ebay may put the payment on hold for 30 days which they sometimes do anyway.
