Misleading seller tricks are putting people off using eBay!

I recently tried to buy car number plates and immediately I'm met with special offers and cheap gimmicks where the cheap prices don't actually exist. I've just looked at item number 187995680881 where the listing clearly states that you get a free border. The moment the dropdown question asks if you would like the free border, the price increases by another pound. That's not "free" in any normal sense! If the listing advertises a free border and then adds £1 when you select it, that's at best confusing and arguably misleading.

Mentor3 weeks agoIt is a multi listing, I.E. you select front/rear or both plates.
I found if i select both plates, it adds £1 if you want border.
If I select just front with border, no extra charge.
You have to be careful which options you chose.
Items start at 99p, which is only for sticky pad.
Unfortunately ebay allow these type of listings.
