Mentor6 months agoEbay postage costs are based on info you put in when listing.
Fine for normal parcels, but things like tyres you need to check weight & size carefully.
You may be lucky and buyer is willing to pay the extra.

OP6 months agoOK - thanks - think that might be an EBay error, they added some delivery options after original item posting (been on since about Feb last year)) - I'll just send them and take the hit.

Mentor6 months agoListing says £5.88 postage, so that is all buyer has to pay.
It is up to you (seller) to get postage correct.
You can only ask buyer to pay extra, they don't have to & if you refuse to post item, they may leave appropiate feedback.

My initial message to buyer:
I think you might have selected wrong parcel size - each tyre is approx 730mm x 730mm x 260mm - I think they weigh 11kg each (I'll check that later today and confirm). You will need 2 x postage labels - can't bind them together - 1 for each tyre. I can wrap them in black film ready for label/shipping - can you sort correct shipping option and I'll print labels and despatch?
I spoke with EBay on it
My follow up message to buyer:
If you can't sort, I can sort by buying correct shipping. EBay options would cost 13.63 each so £27.26 in total - less £5.88 your were charged on the purchase - balance required would be £21.38 - are you happy to pay that? If so I'd need a bank transfer before dispatch - can you do that? I can give you bank details. If that's all too messy I could just cancel the sale - let me know ASAP as items need to be dispatched today/tomorrow.
Had no response, now dispatch is late.
