Member from abroad unable to bid on item

I wanted to ask why a member from Trinidad advised they are unable to bid on a stamp item as it states we do not ship there (and we have GSP turned off due to high costs), yet another member from Trinidad has successfully bid on a stamp item.

Any ideas?

If you click Trinidad from drop down list, it says "Contact seller"

So you are not in GSP or have specified postage cost.

Hi,

We don't usually have a specified postage cost for abroad, as when members bid on items and win them, we raise an invoice for the cost to that country, which has always worked.

So, we are not sure why it has happened for this one particular member/item.

Do we need to enter a particular postage cost for Trinidad in this case?

You only post to the UK and give postage cost to UK?

The only countries you have blocked are the standard ones blocked by ebay. This means anyone not in a blocked country can bid BUT NOT PAY.

You will need to send an invoice if they win.
I assume most of your items go by letter post, if so most countries the postage cost is the same for letters from the UK.

Thank you for replying.

We do ship worldwide, as well as the UK and have never had any problems in members from other countries, bidding on items before.

We have recently had someone bid on an item who lives in Trinidad and sent them an invoice, which worked ok.

However, a different member, who is also from Trinidad has messaged to say, that they cannot bid, as there is a message that says we do not ship to that country.

So, we cannot understand why one person from Trinidad can bid but not another?
