I have not sold on ebay for many years. When I last did so it was pretty straightforward, not any more.
I listed a low value item which I knew I could post as a 2nd class large letter for up to 100g (£1.55). But ebay would not allow this option. They only seemed to offer up to 1kg for £2.70, which I didn't want as it would wipe out all of my profit and some of the actual cost of the item to me.
I didn't know what postage to use so I selected 'simple delivery', not understanding what this actually meant. Now I have sold an item, ebay wants me to print the £2.70 label. I have already posted it myself for £1.55. I cant seem to cancel this label and I cannot mark the item as despatched presumably because I havent used the label. I dont even know if Ive been charged for the label that I dont want.
The ebay help bot is not helpful either. I am afraid the buyer will think I've not bothered to post it, although I have sent them a message to say I have. I am so confused. It never used to be like this.
Can anyone suggest what to do?

·5 months agoIt's Ebay's new system - Simple Delivery.
All the details are in the link below.
Follow the links from the page and read all the FAQs. How to claim if you use your own postage is covered.
However, if you are trading and buying items to sell, you should change to a business account and you will be able to set your own postage costs.

Simple delivery is far from simple, I now only sell things that are exempt, but cunningly ebay does not have a list of exempt items, but when listing if exempt, option for Custom Postage appears.
