I received my Samsung S24+ from the seller towards the end of January 2026. Recently it has been overheating and turning off without warning at 40% battery. I removed the phone case to cool the phone down and noticed the back panel of the phone is coming away on both sides. I've looked it up and it's apparently due to a swollen battery 'As batteries get old or overheat, they can expand and push the back cover outward from the inside. This is a safety risk.' The seller has not responded and I want to replace this device. Unfortunately I didn't check at the time of purchase but I don't think it came with a warranty

Mentor1 month agoThe important thing to remember when buying on eBay is that eBay's own money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days. After that, they will have no interest. Buying from unknown sellers on eBay isn't like the shops.
Depending upon how you pay, your pay payment provider may be able to help - for typically around 120 days.

OP2 weeks agoThank you. I sent the device to Samsung for inspection. Turns out the phone was not brand new as listed, it had used components including a used battery which was overheating and other third party rework to the phone. I've got ebay to remove the listing but have put in a claim to get my money back. What a huge waste of time.

Mentor1 month agoSorry but it's too late to do anything via ebay or your payment provider. You could try money claim online.
