making best offer and applying discout voucher
Hi, if a seller accepts my best offer , can I still apply a discount voucher at the checkout? The seller is on the list discount vouchers. Thank you

OP5 months agoDoes anyone know if the 3 possible best offers that appear automatically are decided by the seller or are they randomly generated? Sellers are not always happy with those options, it is as if they were imposed on them.

A lot of vouchers are given by ebay, so seller gets full amount.

Mentor5 months agoI tend to agree with @tobiasd4 the coupon programmes that ebay run, they pay part of the sellers fees. (usually 40%)
I used a discount last week for an item eg a multi buy and then also applied the voucher in the checkout and got both.

The problem is ebay does not clarify enough anywhere if a voucher can be applied after a best offer is accepted. It is open to interpretation, which can create friction between sellers and buyers. Whether the two benefits in the purchase can be used simultaneously should not be a matter of interpretation in a forum of users, but a clear guideline from Ebay about how to make the best of the offer. I asked the Help chat and as usual it has not lived up to the expectations. I believe you say it worked for you in your case, but it is to be seen if it works in a different situation.
The best way is to try and see what happens, which from my perspective is not very professional from Ebay.

Thanks for replying,
I asked the seller if a voucher could be applied additionally to a best offer and he told me no, it is one or the other. Don't know if that is correct, but I worked out the voucher discount would get me a better price than any best offer I could make, and went for the 20% voucher.

Mentor5 months agoIf seller has automatic payment on acceptance of offer, then you can't use voucher.
if you have to pay via ebay checkout, you should be able to use voucher.
