'Make offer' directs me to 'this page cannot be displayed'
I am attempting to make an offer with a seller that we have agreed a price on an item. Every time I attempt to put an offer in, ebay sends me an error message saying that it refused to connect.
I have tried to make the offer on both firefox and chrome browsers. There appears to be no support from any egents on ebay about this. What else can I do?

We have had further reports from other users for this issue with getting the message failed/refused to connect. We have logged a ticket with tech for further investigation and once there is a further update from them I will update the main thread.

As this issue is being worked on can you try and see if you are now able to make an offer. Other users who reported the same issue have been able to make offers this morning.

OP5 months agoThanks Kat - I am now waiting to hear back from the seller regarding transport arrangements to pick up the item. Providing that all works out I will attempt to place the offer. Will let you know after that if the technical problem has been resolved.

I much prefer a website.
But it seems companies, including ebay are more towards apps.
I know Barclays bank are ditching account website soon.

Often resolves this issue, which has been ongoing for a week.

OP5 months agoThanks for your reply tobiasd4. So at least I am not alone as you say that this issue has been ongoing for over a week.
I have tried clearing cache and cookies but this did not solve the issue. I then installed three fresh browsers - brave, epiphany and zen. None of these fresh installs worked despite allowing cookies.
I would hazard a guess that only the official ebay app will allow offers being made as there is something wrong with the security settings that makes ebay refuse to connect. It is not an issue with the computer that I am using but ebay itself which refuses the connection.
I am 'app' adverse myself and do not use a smartphone. Why are most companies insisting on internet users adopting this smartphone technology? It is infuriating considering we are the customers/consumers.
Thanks again tobias. Hopefully the seller and I can find another way around this technical issue within the ebay ecosystem.
