Made an offer, counter rec'd, refused.
Interested to hear thoughts. I made an offer on something. Buyer refused and made counter offer. I refused. 12hrs later I found they'd gone back and accepted my original offer. During this period I'd considered buying from someone else instead. If I had I'd have ended up with 2 lots of the same thing. Question, should a seller be able to go back and accept an offer you've made when you have refused their counter offer?

Mentor11 months agoNot possible. Once offer has been declined or counter offer made, original offer has lapsed.
Did it really appear in your bought items, and have you now paid.?

Mentor11 months agoSomething has gone very wrong here, as @john1297576 says, once an offer has been declined, that's it, it cannot be accepted , unless a new offer is sent.
Think we need to call on community managers to take a look at your account and sellers to see what's happened here!
@dave@ebay @marco@ebay can you help here!

OP11 months agoI'd like to look into this myself further before setting hares running. Looking to delete message but can't find a way, so please consider the subject closed for now. I now think what may have happened is that in the middle of making my offer to one seller I also received an unsolicited offer for an identical item, from another seller. I wrongly assumed it was the same seller, because of the time frame and because I hadn't made any other offers.

Mentor11 months agoAaah OK you're saying here you accepted that offer, yep that would explain the sale and payment.
No worries about any confusion, easily done !🤗
