Luxury watch returns window?
Summary: pullmyfinger82 sold an expensive watch and is facing a disagreement with the buyer who claims the watch's movement is gritty and might need servicing. The buyer hasn't removed the security seal and is requesting a return or partial refund. pullmyfinger82 asked for proof from a watchmaker but hasn't received a response. papso22 and john1297576 informed that the buyer has 30 days from receipt to claim a refund under eBay's money-back guarantee. tobiasd4 suggested that if a 'not as described' case is opened after authentication, the item could go back for rechecking.
Hi all,
I sold an expensive watch last week, buyer was a bit of a nuisance tbf trying to get money off etc. we came to an agreement in the end and I sold him the watch. It all went through authentication and was delivered (Saturday 20/06) fine.
He messaged today and told me the movement is gritty (it’s definitely not), and needs a service and possibly wants to return it or claim partial refund. I’ve asked him for written proof from a watchmaker and had no reply
He also says he hasn’t removed the red eBay security seal yet
What’s his return window whilst he still has the seal on please? I’ve read somewhere that it’s 3 days?
Many thanks :)

Mentor3 months agoI am happy to be corrected if wrong.
But I thought if buyer opens item not as described case after it has been authenticated, then item goes back to them for recheck.

Mentor3 months ago30 day money back guarantee. You need to find out how ebay works, if buyer opens a not as described case, then if you do not accept it and provide a return label, then buyer escalates and ebay will refund in full at your expense without the need for return.
Do not agree on a partial refund without seeing good evidence of any faults.
